INSTRUCT THE WISE

When we heed criticism

The wiser we become

Ignoring this true fact

Infringes on deaf and dumb

Be open to advice

Burdens are hard to bear

People risking your displeasure

But showing you they care

Enthusiasm for righteous living

Should be our desire

Burning in our hearts

Like never ending fire

Occupied with ourselves

Only fills our needs

Devotion to God and others

Brings us happiness indeed

Instruct the wise man

And the wiser he will be

Lead him to the Lord

And he’ll be wise and free

FEAR GOD

Men’s bitter hatred

Lust and greed

Feeds evil thinking

To satisfy it’s need

The human soul

Will force this test

Life with God

Or hell with the rest

What folly this is

When we do not see

That moment beyond the grave

Starts our eternity

When will men learn

Evil has no place

Except in hell fire

Relying on Man’s grace

People lift your eyes

Fear God and reverence Him

Be faithful in the Lord

And you He won’t condemn

GOD’S EVERLASTING ARMS

I’m special to God

He looks on me with love

Always watching over me

From Heaven above

Everyday of life

I’m in the Savior’s hands

He brings me one step closer

To fulfillment of His plans

When violence approaches me

With hate or fear

My protector is always there

Who holds me very dear

Forever there with me

In everything I do

God and I together

I’m able to get through

My soul is protected

In God’s everlasting arms

Away from all evil

And everything that harms

BE QUIET MY HEART

Be quiet my heart

Get perfectly still

The Lord is speaking

To me “His Will”

I’m waiting on Him

His voice is so clear

I hear the Lord’s call

It suppresses my fear

When the Lord is speaking

To a sinner like me

I know His mercy

Is for Humanity

His gift to me

Is life with Him

The Lord will judge me

But not condemn

Be quiet my heart

I hear His voice

Whenever He calls

To serve is my choice

MY DESIRE

God, keep my motives

Honest and pure

To help other people

As unto you

Jesus, help me be

A righteous man

Doing the Father’s will

According to His plan

Let patience work in me

My pride cast away

Serving you O God

I pray everyday

Keep words on my lips

That honor you, Lord

My heart has been freed

And my soul restored

In all that I do

My desire will be

To glorify you, God

And worship only Thee

AT THE BREAK OF DAY

I am leaving this morning

At the break of day

In my heart I’m glad

To know I’m on my way

We are sailing away

Through clouds of golden white

Finally getting to go home

Where everything is right

Sailing across the void

With Jesus at the helm

Excitement is building

To me it does overwhelm

Safe in the Master’s hands

Leading us with care

No more storms ahead

Just weather that is fair

I wish you were here

To see this beautiful place

Knowing you cannot wait

To look upon God’s face

CREATED IN GOD’S IMAGE

Many times we fail

And God loves us still

He brings us great joy

We are doing His will

Created in God’s image

Man is special to Him

Not wanting any to perish

Giving Himself for them

Some accepted this gift

Other laughed it to scorn

And destroyed their hope

Of being reborn

The evil sometimes prosper

But some reach their fate

Left in outer darkness

Never reaching Heaven’s gate

The family of Man

Was always meant to see

And fellowship with God

And that’s the way it shall be

SANDS OF TIME

In the sands of time

Are hidden mysteries there

Some God will reveal

To men who really care

God’s Spirit leads in truth

But not all can discern

Mostly the pure in heart

And others willing to learn

The natural man knows not

Things spiritually understood

It is foolishness to him

Counted worthless and no good

But he that is spiritual

And faithful is all things

Knows Jesus the Messiah

And the love that He brings

Put your trust in God

For time is at hand

The hourglass is near empty

And almost out of sand

THOSE SWELLING WORDS

Some angry man was yelling

And cursing at me one day

But I spoke to him softly

Just turning his anger away

Telling the man Jesus loves him

After he blasphemed God to me

Jesus’ name burnt his ears

His cursing hurt mine you see

Learning this was important

Another tool I did receive

Turning anger away in love

So in Jesus he may believe

In Jesus’ Name there’s power

And this you can’t deny

No one out thinks the Lord

No matter how hard they try

So think before you speak

Those swelling words of hate

Worship the name of Jesus

Before it is too late

THE TONGUE

Who can control the tongue

If it has no master

When you try to stop it

The tongue just goes faster

This monster may be small

But size doesn’t matter

It can cause many problems

While making you much sadder

Worse than deadly poison

And like a burning fire

Destroying what it touches

Even a holy desire

Out of the same mouth

God receives a blessing

Then we curse our brothers

Instead of praying and confessing

Not respecting any age

It even affects the young

Next time it’s unruly

Just bite down on that tongue

PROVIDENCE

As I walked out this morning

I met a lad along my way

Asking me to play with him

But I had not time today

Hurrying down the street

And thinking about this lad

I wondered whose boy this was

And if he had a dad

On my way to work

A place of stress and noise

I thought of peaceful fields

With happy girls and boys

I thought this one time

That nobody would miss me

So, I went back to find the lad

But he was nowhere I could see

When I arrived at work

All I could do was stare

You see, they had a fire today

And God kept me from dying there

TEACH ME

Guide me O Lord

Away from sin

You rule my life

And abide within

Help me my Lord

To understand why

Some reject your love

And would rather die

Show me your will

That I may do

Loving and obeying

You that is true

Keep me from hate

Learn love for others

When I see people

There’re sisters and brothers

Teach me now

When making my plans

To remember the outcome

Is in your hands

THE FUNERAL

At a young man’s funeral

With his friends gathered around

They listened to what he wrote them

As they lowered his body down

My life is now over

He began to tell them all

But I am living again

Because I answered the Savior’s call

He said, you all knew me

With my rough and rowdy ways

Never listening to any reason

Except in my final days

But your lives are before you

And take an old friend’s advice

You only have to once

If you are truly born twice

Make a commitment to Jesus

Come gather round my grave

Believe in Him my friends

And you, He will surely save

JUST BABES IN CHRIST

Just babes in Christ

Most of us are

Never shining forth

Like a brilliant star

Not able to understand

The most basic teaching

Just tickle you ears

With pretty preaching

Unskillful in God’s word

And never growing wise

The senses are dulled

From no exercise

But strength to those

God’s doctrine some know

Moving on from repentance

To perfection we go

Laying on of hands

And resurrecting the dead

God does permit this

His Word has said

TOGETHER IN GOD’S GRACE

The daughter of some missionaries

Came around one day

Helping me with the sick

But said, she couldn’t stay

As we worked together

Our friendship really grew

It seemed, she and I together

There was nothing we couldn’t do

Enjoying her work and loving God

Her expectations were filled and more

She found a husband in me

And loved help the poor

Forty-three years have gone by

In this short space of time

Praising God for bringing us together

In His wisdom sublime

But now my heart is lonely

She has gone from this place

But I will see her soon

We’ll be together in God’s grace

WE ARE THE HANDS

There are many people helping

To hold on the rope

Others raising up churches

Or a missionary’s hope

Give freely my friends

Of your money and time

God works through us

With His wisdom sublime

A lot of hands are giving

For the cause of our Lord

So all can come

And seek God’s reward

Some stay behind

Supporting those in need

Also praying faithfully

The God will intercede

There are many members of the Body

But by One we are led

Through Christ Jesus our Lord

We are the hands; He is the Head

THE APPLE’S SCENT

Once there was a rich man

The richest in our town

He always despised the poor

Upon them he looked down

One day a little fellow

Stopped him on his way

It was the same crippled boy

He passed by every day

The lad was selling apples

Just to make ends meet

The miser couldn’t spare a dime

On such an extravagant treat

The rich man noticed one day

The lad was no longer there

Someone told him he had died

And was in the Father’s care

That night the rich man died

And straight to hell he went

Somehow through the smoke and ash

He smelled the apple’s scent

THE PENNY

There was a certain man

Going to church one day

Finding a penny on the ground

He thought to give away

This man would always give

To God and everyone

He was a generous man

Giving everything under the sun

At church the plate was passed

The penny was dropped right in

The usher saw the disgraceful act

And thought, what a sin

In anger the usher rebuked him

Telling everyone, give him the axe

The usher felt like such a fool

When he found out all the facts

Yes, a lesson was learned that day

And now I truly see

Never to judge anyone

Because the usher that day was me

THE UNDERTAKER

The old work horse

Pulled the hearse along

Business is very good

Was the undertaker’s song

One man was born

Another man died

The undertaker watched

As the man’s family cried

Death is all around him

And he doesn’t care

But God will judge

Being Righteous and fair

Just worry about business

Was the undertaker’s plan

Having no interest

In the family of Man

Now the hearse has no driver

But the horse knows the way

And business is still good

The undertaker died today

ACCORDING TO THEIR DEEDS

Nothing but death

Was across the land

There were no righteous ones

To make a stand

The wickedness of man

Was out of control

Defiling his body

And destroying his soul

Lovers of darkness

Afraid of God’s light

Trying to hide

From His Holy sight

Given over to lust

And perverted thinking

Worshipping their idols

In fornication and drinking

Without caring or understanding

For the poor and his needs

God shall judge them

According to their deeds

THE GARDEN

Fruits of the Spirit

Are sown in love

It is what god desires

From Heaven above

Faithfulness and goodness

Also self-control

All from the garden

To enrich your very soul

When growing in real grace

And God’s mercy too

The Lord’s strength is yours

There’s nothing you can’t do

For he who plants peace

Will find exceeding joy

Founded on the Rock

That no man may destroy

God’s gentleness and kindness

Is waiting for us all

Jesus leads us to the garden

If we listen to his call

WALK IN HIS LIGHT

Crucify your flesh

And all it brings

Let His Spirit come forth

As a living spring

Don’t be discouraged

Then sin enters in

Just trust the king

You’ll always win

There are many things

We don’t understand

But love thy neighbor

That is His command

Be a righteous man

Never brag or boast

Be filled with Jesus

And the Holy Ghost

Remember my friends

Grace is for you

Only accept His love

You’ll be saved too

WHEN THE DAYS ARE DARK

In these last times

When days are dark

Murder is running free

To trample life’s spark

The innocent are slain

And the guilty go free

Standing up for justice

Is how it should be

When someone is troubled

Give him your hand

Show them the right path

On solid ground you’ll stand

Be bold for the Lord

At the same time be meek

Humility is taken for weakness

Strength can turn the other cheek

Let the greatest among you

Be the servant of all

Straight up to the Father

None need not fall

O’ WICKED BABYLON

O’ wicked Babylon

How long will you stand

Before the Lord chastens you

With His mighty hand

You mock God’s Holiness

And shed innocent blood

As in the days of Noah

Before God sent the flood

Your Government is corrupted

And out of control

Living for greed and lust

Ready to sell it’s soul

Murder and violence

Is the order of the day

Your people do not care

If it stays or goes away

If you forsake the Lord

You must accept your fate

O’ wicked Babylon

Your hour is getting late

WILL HE TARRY

The Lord can save your soul

And make burdens easy to carry

Is the Second Coming near

Or will he tarry?

Put all your trust in Him

He may be here today

Only the Lord knows

If He will delay

He went to prepare a place

So all can live in peace

The Master’s work is genius

His wonders never cease

So strengthen your hearts

On His love you can depend

It will put your mind at ease

Knowing in Him you have a friend

The Lord can save your soul

And make burdens easy to carry

Is the Second Coming near

Or will He tarry?

CARE FOR OTHER’S NEEDS

Dear God in Heaven

Guide us to thee

The wages of sin is death

With our hypocrisy

The time is coming

When you have to choose

To serve the Lord

Or your soul you will lose

My friends a leopard

Can’t change his spots

But if you listen to the Lord

You can change your thoughts

The world around us

Does not hear His voice

But we harken unto the Lord

We have made Him our choice

People in the world

Care for nothing but their greed

But true Christ followers

Care for other’s needs

RESTITUTION

The owner of the land

Sent servants to see

If the caretakers were honest

As they should truly be

Upon the servants arrival

They were beaten without care

And sent back to their master

Who was honest, just and fair

The owner sent His Son

So they would understand

That everything belongs to Him

And obey His command

But they killed His Son

Out of jealousy and greed

He must bloody His hands

For now He will intercede

He will call His army

Millions and Millions strong

They will kill those wicked servants

And right this terrible wrong

MANY SOULS TO BE WON

The morning is peaceful

All quiet and still

Hear the Lord’s voice

And then do His Will

Always searching for others

To lend a helping hand

So they can be part

Of the Master’s great plan

When walking life’s road

Not a stranger you’ll meet

God’s love representative

To everyone you greet

Jesus opened His arms

For us to embrace

We long for the day

To look upon His Face

But there’s a lot of work

For all of us to do

Many souls to be won

Before we are through

THROUGH JESUS WE’RE FREE

When things of this world

Really have you in despair

Remember child of God

That Satan is never fair

If everything is good

He wants to bring it down

Hoping to steal your joy

Turning your smile into a frown

People are going to hurt you

Sometime or some place

But know that Jesus loves you

And you’re covered by His grace

Some will never know

The happiness Jesus brings

They are blinded by Satan

And busy worshipping things

It is a blessing to know

For you and for me

Once held by worldly chains

But through Jesus, now we’re free

THE RICH MAN

Give and you’ll be blessed

This man knew what to do

He always gave in secret

Carefully, thinking it through

He gave generous alms

When the offering came around

Some people felt it their duty

This man must be found

Even the preacher wanted to know

The identity of this man

The one who gave so much

According to God’s plan

They finally found this man

Giving him honor and special place

The man got very angry

Knowing this was a disgrace

The rich man wanted none to know

Except God in Heaven above

For the Father sees things in secret

But rewards openly with His love

EVERYONE IS WORTH SAVING TO HIM

Whenever you judge thy neighbor

And others you want to condemn

Remember what Jesus taught us

Everyone is worth saving to Him

My wonderful sinless Jesus

Poured life’s blood out His veins

No one took it he gave it

To cover man’s sin stain

We have access through Jesus

To reach the Father’s throne

To God we boldly come

Our sin he did atone

People be faithful to Jesus

And also to one another

Everybody do what is right

Try to love your brother

When ever you judge thy neighbor

And others you want to condemn

Remember what Jesus taught us

Everyone is worth saving to Him

THE TRUTH SUBLIME

I was the one

Who let you down

Yes, it was me

Who made you frown

When I hurt you

Or gave you pain

I did not care

Cause I was vain

So you’re still here

With a helping hand

But me and transgression

Are like shifting sand

I confess my sins

To you I belong

Now in humble sorrow

Knowing that I’m wrong

The Holy Scripture says

We’ll know in time

You will reveal all

And the truth sublime

IN JESUS THEY’RE REASSURED

Tears of sadness fell

From the little boy’s face

Thinking he was the cause

Of his family’s disgrace

His mother and father

Could not get along

Not knowing God to guide them

Everything just went all wrong

The boy looked back in sorrow

And then made up his mind

This will not happen to him

True happiness he will find

He found the love of Jesus

And joy entered his life

Then the Lord answered his prayers

Giving him a godly wife

Both serve and love the Lord

According to God’s word

When trouble come at them

In Jesus they’re reassured

POINTS OF LIGHT

Looking at yourself

Who can this be

Reflections in a mirror

What do you see

Can you hear God’s Word

And then go your way

Deceiving your own self

Be warned of this today

Harken, my beloved

God has chosen the poor

To be rich in faith

He’s promised even more

Heirs of God’s kingdom

For those that love Him

But double minded men

Themselves they condemn

Be doers of God’s Word

Not forgetting who you are

We are His points of light

Shining like a star

DECISIONS

As then thousand years

Is a moment in the grave

My soul is the Lord’s

For it He will save

Laying down to sleep

In the wink of an eye

Time is now void

Forever when you die

Just passing through life

Is part of God’s plan

And accepting the Lord Jesus

Is restoration for Man

Death is a door

All must pass through

Eternity is waiting

God’s word is true

Forever in outer darkness

Or eternity with the Lord

Decisions made in this life

Their results are your reward
